Join Livable Memphis and the City of Memphis for an interactive workshop using the Memphis Walkability Toolkit. Developed by Livable Memphis, the Walkability Toolkit gives neighborhood groups and leaders information on the value of walkable neighborhoods, the city's processes for maintaining pedestrian infrastructure, and how to identify and track barriers to access for people walking or rolling.
We will present the Memphis Walkability Toolkit, making the case for why walkable neighborhoods are more livable neighborhoods, then we will get out in the field and do an assessment of sidewalks, curb ramps, and other pedestrian infrastructure in the vicinity of City Hall. For the assessment, we will provide mobile devices equipped with the Memphis Parcel Survey app (which was used recently to conduct the Bluff City Snapshot), other materials, and refreshments. We are looking for 20 volunteer participants to learn about the toolkit and work in pairs to conduct the walkability assessment, so we hope you can join us!
