What is Community Development?
Community development in Memphis is a place-based process focused on improving the quality of life for residents, often centered on housing, infrastructure, and the built environment. While its origins are rooted in grassroots organizing, the field has evolved into a more professionalized system that includes diverse approaches and organizations, building a broader network aimed at community well-being and equity.
BLDG Memphis delivers customized services to nonprofit community development organizations to assess, plan, and implement strategies to achieve their community goals.
